I mean, I’m sure most people don’t. But it’s the entire reason I smoke and live the way I do. I’m trying to make sure I won’t have to worry about old age. So, I find it funny when older people with aches and pains look at me and jokingly say ‘Don’t get old.’ because they don’t see what a sadistic suggestion that phrase carries.
I have been hearing this my entire life. The first person I was ever compared to was Brooke Shields, but that’s when I was really young. Since then it’s been endless, Amy Lee, Megan Fox, Katy Perry, Mia Kirshner, Kate Moennig, and most recently Jodi Lyn O’Keefe. I have nothing against the women I’ve been compared to, and most people say ‘it’s a compliment cause they’re really hot.’, but that’s not the part I care about. I care about my individuality, saying they’re hot and you look like them so it’s a compliment is not the same as saying, ‘You’re beautiful.’ It’s a backhanded remark to me. I want to be beautiful and unique. I don’t want you to find me attractive because I look like some fantasy woman you want to screw. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful for compliments, I just get tired of hearing I look like every girl that’s walked out into the world with dark hair and light eyes.
